Your names stay on your device
There’s no server on the other end — the draw, the links, and every reveal run in the browser. Don’t take our word for it: open your browser’s devtools, watch the network tab, and run a draw — nothing about your names goes out. You’ll see one cookie-less Cloudflare script that counts page views; it never learns what you typed.

What can I use this for?
ShuffleNames covers anything you’d once have used a hat for: picking raffle winners, pairing teammates for reviews or projects, running an office gift exchange, or working as a chore assignment generator for housemates. If the names would have gone on paper slips, they fit here.
Can I keep two people from being paired together?
Yes — add an exclusion. Pick two names and the draw guarantees neither one gets the other, in either direction. It covers partners, housemates, or last round’s pairs. If your exclusions make a draw impossible, we tell you exactly which one to remove.
What happens if I redo the draw?
You get a brand-new set of links, and the old ones keep working — there’s no server, so nothing can revoke them. Send everyone their new link and ask them to ignore the old one. We warn you before every re-draw for exactly this reason.
How do the private result links work?
Each person’s result is packed into their own link — nothing is stored anywhere, and opening a link reads it right there on the device. The payload is lightly scrambled so it doesn’t read as plain text, but that’s obfuscation, not encryption: anyone who has a link can open it. Send each link only to its person.
Can the organizer see the results?
Honestly, yes — the organizer’s browser creates every link, so an organizer who wants to peek, can. If you’re in the draw yourself and want a surprise, ask someone else to run it, or trust yourself not to click.
Is there a paid tier or a catch?
No — and there’s no catch. It’s a small static site that costs almost nothing to run, so there’s no paid tier and no ads on the tool.
Will it slow down when lots of people draw at once?
No. The site is static files and every draw runs on your own device, so there’s no server to overload — a thousand simultaneous draws are just a thousand browsers each doing their own small shuffle.
What if I close the page before sending the links?
Copy or send the links before you leave — they only exist on that screen. There’s no account and no server holding a copy, so if the page is gone, just run the draw again and send the fresh links. Old links keep showing their old result.
